Your Personal Profile, like so much of Cagora, is a one stop spot that can include links
to your profile on other networking sites along with social, business and community links
that help define who you are and what interests you have.
Your Personal Profile comprises general information about you, your social and business
interests (including your career and educational history), and your Community interests.
You are in total control of how much or how little information you want available to other
members and who has access to this information.
Set Your Local World
To set the Local World of your local community, Click edit on your profile page (located
on the far right of "My LocalWorld"). Choose your continent, ie: USA, Europe, etc. A new
box will open every time you make a selection, until you arrive at your location.
If your local community is not yet listed, choose the community closest to your location.
Also, if your local community is not listed as yet, this is a great time to explore the possibility
of becoming a Community Partner for your own local community.
Organization Profiles
At Cagora, you will soon have the ability to create up to 5 organization profiles in which
you can present the business (es) or Non Profit Organizations you own or administer. We will
have different profile formats for different businesses such as Business, Schools,
Charities, Community Groups and Chambers of Commerce.
We only allow bonafide businesses. No affiliate programs please. However, if you have
a business, (i.e.: New Hope Enterprises), and it promotes affiliate programs on your website,
that would be considered a bonafide business.
An Organizational profile provides you with the opportunity to promote your organization in
much the same way as you might with a detailed Yellow Pages directory listing, but we add
features such as a Map, a Blog, links to all your contributions.
This functionality will go live in mid Decemeber.
Privacy
You may want to hide private information such as phone numbers and email addresses from
everyone other than your friends or best friends. Our Profile Pages give you a lot of choice
about what information you let people have access to, so you can feel safe and comfortable.
We will also shortly be making it impossible to have your birth date seen by people other than
your best friends. This is part of our best endeavors to reduce the risk of ‘Identity Theft' where
people use information gathered online to undertake unlawful activities such as applying for
credit cards in someone else's name.
